Volunteer

There are so many ways to help.

Raymond Dean of Digital Stax made this wonderful website free for us. Rena Gilgen of Clever sews beautiful quilt pads for us to place in the dog and cat cages, providing comfort as well as a splash of color. There are so many wonderful friends who have stood beside us, making miracles happen every day.

Would you like to help but do not know how? Here are a few ideas:

We need the following:

  • Help at adoption sites on Saturdays (unloading and loading up vans, walking dogs, cleaning cages, answering questions from the public, etc.).
  • People to organize fundraisers or collections of dog food, cat food and cat litter.
  • People who will ask their employers or schools to make donations.
  • Volunteers to shampoo and groom dogs.
  • Mechanics who will donate maintenance and repair work on our vans and buses.
  • Sponsors for gasoline (big vans use huge quantities of gasoline)!
  • Grantwriters to research and write grants for the shelter.
  • Graphic artists to design and produce brochures and business cards.
  • Volunteers to spend time with rescued animals, socializing them.
  • Foster homes
  • Manual labor to strip and lime dirt kennel runs.
  • Carpenters and electricians to keep everything looking good and running well at the shelter.
  • Donations of medical supplies: wormer, Frontline, ear mite medication, ear and eye infection medications, medicated shampoos, gauze, etc.
  • Donations of cedar by the truckload for bedding and kennel surface.
  • Publicity - can you develop and sponsor a public service announcement for us? (We're much better at rescue than "tooting our own horn"!)
