All Creatures 1st Place Winner in the Citgo Fueling Good Get and Give Sweepstakes

NEWS RELEASE

10/22/10

All Creatures Animal Rescue received notice today that it is the 1st
place winner of the Citgo Fueling Good Get & Give Sweepstakes. The
sweepstakes rewards organizations that are “doing good” in their
communities by awarding gasoline gift cards and other prizes to assist
in their work. The shelter was chosen as the winner from hundreds of
non-profit organizations across the United States.

All Creatures received $1500 in gasoline gift cards, a case of oil and
a flip camcorder. These gifts will help keep its large animal transport
vehicles on the road and the camcorder will help the organization
illustrate the good work that it does for the community on the Citgo
website.  According to Director Angie Rieschel-Walker, “Our volunteers
transport homeless animals hundreds of miles each month to the PetSmart
store in Springfield, the Petco store in Camdenton and also to the
PetCo store in Branson where the public may adopt animals for a modest
fee. All animals are spayed or neutered prior to adoption and have
vaccinations. This generous gift from Citgo will make a huge impact on
our budget.”

Last year, All Creatures volunteers found homes for 1400 homeless pets.
Without their intervention and an opportunity for this second chance,
these pets would have been euthanized in area pounds.

Like all shelters in this region, All Creatures tackles a huge
challenge due to the large number of homeless pets, largely attributed
to the state’s 3000 puppy mills and the economic downturn forcing
families to lose their homes. This organization has been saving lives
since 2001. Anyone interested in finding out more about the shelter may
visit the website at allcreaturesanimalrescue.org.

Becca's Barkery A Big Hit With Dogs

A big thanks to Becca's Barkery for generously donating gourmet dog biscuits to our rescue. We usually have one or two dogs in our bunch who turn their nose up at treats, but in the case of Becca's cookies, all have enthusiastically enjoyed the treats. These cookies are all natural with no preservatives. If you'd like to try them for your dog, contact Becca at 417-746-1116 or visit her website at www.beccasbarkery.com.  Every time you purchase this product, Becca donates a percentage of all profits to support the welfare and care of rescued animals.

Generous Donations

A donation of $200 has been made in the name of Larry and Eleanor Freund.  These funds will be used to help with vet expenses for "Emma", a Yellow Lab puppy we rescued who has two broken back legs.

John A. Heitz has contributed funds enabling the purchase of a Sony Vaio laptop computer. This wonderful tool will be used for coordinating animal rescues via email, grant research and writing, website maintenance and the production of signs and newsletters.

$100 has been received from Barbara Joyce, Renee McKelvie and Jerry Angle. This gift has been used for the purchase of pet food.

Thanks to everyone who makes our work possible.
